Cutting the cord...

It took me a while to find one, but I finally managed to pick up the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows from my local games shop. Anything that helps me get rid of wires on my desk is something I am more then happy to purchase. If your running Windows Vista you might be more then a little surprised when the installation CD says that your operating system isn't supported, I followed the link from the cd to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/download.mspx where I was able to give some simple information about what I needed a driver for and got a version of the driver that worked perfectly with Windows Vista.

Naturally the first thing I did once I got my Wireless controller connected was to load up Spacewar and give it a try with XNA Game Studio Express and it seems to work great and I didn't notice any difference from using a regular wired controller.

To end the post with a bit of fancy (or not so fancy) marketing at $19.99 or less from retailers like Amazon you really can't beat getting to use your wireless Xbox 360 controllers on your PC.

New Home! Hopefully New Posts Too!

It's been a while since I've posted anything, on really anything at all on my older blog on MSDN. After much mucking around, I finally have Community Server set up on my own server with domain name. I'll be posting here from now on so you'll want to update your bookmarks or RSS feed.

Not too much will change with the day to day, I'll still be posting plenty about XNA Game Studio Express and that sort of thing. I'd like to start posting a bit more about game development in general and focus on community game development. Because this is my all in one blog I may throw in a personal post or rant now and again :-) but with the use of tags you can easily filter out all that boring stuff that you may not want to read about.

As for housekeeping let me know if you encounter errors or have any trouble commenting or even if the site doesn't seem to be working normally. While I'll keep all my old posts on MSDN I'm going to try to get them mirrored over here but I have no clue how to begin to make that work.

Anyway, with GDC coming up in a week I'll try to post some good pictures and thoughts from the event, and looking forward to blogging again. Thanks for taking the time to move over to the new blog!
